Happy “UGLY” Halloween!!

I have been staring at this blank “add new post” screen for the last 30 minutes (and watching What Not To Wear)…trying to figure out what to type in this space.

I have to admit…I haven’t been in much of a “bloggy” mood lately. I don’t do much during the week but job hunt, apply (which takes forever), run errands, clean up, and hang out with the dog. Can’t say that any of those activities make for any good blogging material.

BUT…and this is a BIG BUT (hehehe…big butt…hehehe)

the weekend has once again arrived…which is obviously the ONLY blog worthy thing going on here…

and even MORE SO because…

TOMORROW IS HALLOWEEN

aaaaand I’m attending yet another Halloween partayy (tomorrow evening)

so that can only mean one thing..

COSTUME TIME!!!!

Weekends Just Aren’t The Same…

when you’re unemployed…blehhhhhhhhhh!!!!

Friday:

I went shopping and then dinner at Mama Tita’s (pupusas…yumm) where I was coerced into gracing the patrons with my vocal stylings. You already know by now that I love to sing and will more often than not..sing at karaoke!

Oh and let it be known that this was not the first time I’ve done that there…no it isn’t.

Let me demonstrate…

I sang at that same restaurant (at the request of the parents) 2 years ago when we all came to Dallas for Christmas!

Saturday:

I went to a Halloween party with mah gurl.

we mingled, we laughed, we ate, we drank…..and we ate again (it was good food though…you would have had 2nds too)

see..how cute and happy we were?

Sunday:

Lazy day at the house with the parents.

Made them delicious ground turkey tacos

and then…

Cowboys game on the giant HD

(watching them WIN on that TV is way better than on my MUCH smaller one)

OH

and as indicated by my previous post…

this sweet lil’ guy turned ONE and had a blast eating his birthday cupcake

and dressed up as the

After 14 Years….

Last Thursday I met Tanya, the lovely lady pictured above @ Cantina Laredo for Dinner, 14-years worth of catch up (the last time I saw here was when I was 16), and LOTS of laughter!!

I accidentally went to the wrong one and we almost had to have our reunion dinner over the phone…but luckily she was sweet enough to drive over to where I was…so we could sit in person!!

I used to have that much fun with her when we were these awkward teens…and it was like we were those silly girls all over again!

I love that I have another friend here in Dallas..yay!!!

And it doesn’t hurt that the food was seriously VERY yummy!!!

Yet Another Reason to Love Dallas…

But keep in mind…I HAVE EATEN at ALOT of Sushi places…

But this my friends, is by far the best Sushi I’ve had!

Some may and probably will disagree…but that’s alright!

Insomnia Will Make You Do Silly Things

That’s right…the insomnia is here, full on, unapologetic, robbing me of my of sleep!

Not that being currently unemployed helps the situation.

But instead of sleeping like a normal human being…I lie awake making lists, thinking up blog posts, painting my nails (color below)

Welcome to Texas!!

I’m here in Texas…safe and sound!

The road trip down was an adventure all its own (that story will have to be for another occasion).

All you need to know is I’m here, settled in, and happily co-habitating with the parents (uhmm..why does that just sound all wrong?)

And for any of you that are wondering. I feel great about this move! It has been so fun spending time talking with my parents and watching them fall in love with my dog Hurley (yeah, can you believe it?)

Anywhoo.

What better way to be welcomed into the Lone Star State…then with a trip to the State Fair of Texas! We all know that Texas is home to the GREATEST FAIR OF ALL and furthermore we all know that the ONLY reason to go to the fair is for the fried deliciousness that abounds (can I get an amen?) Well last night, we did just that and watched Miranda Lambert perform while we were at it.

Had a last minute change of plans and won’t be leaving until this upcoming Monday.

However…that’s it….that’s all she wrote.

My last weekend in Utah spent with my family and great friends is done and done!

When I stopped to think about the year past (like a clip reel in my head), the thing that stands out the most is the abundant laughter that has surrounded me.

I know I’ve said this before…but I feel most alive when deep in the middle of uncontrollable laughter.

I love all the people I’ve met here in Utah. I love my brother’s friends for being open and accepting, for allowing this unconventional girl to be a part of their little family, and for providing more laughter than I could have ever asked for.

I still have 5 days here…
